Building custom reports in Google Analytics has become easier. If some of the data you need is already in a standard report but you just need more data sets, you don’t have to build from scratch anymore.
For example, you need to associate costs for the “Placement Report” found under the advertising tab. All you need to do is open the report and click the customize button as shown below:
You can now remove the report metrics that you don’t need and start adding the ones you need. in our example, we will add CPC and total cost per placement.
You can then add your own dimensions as shown below, I added Campaign and Ad Group so I can drill down to those levels.
Now I have a Custom Placement Report based from the available standard report in Google Analytics.
